Alightirab Al-Adabi magazine was founded by Samira Al-Mana and her husband, the poet Salah Niazi, in 1985 and ran until 2002.
The outlook of the magazine was outlined by the editorial of the first issue:
To embrace writers in exile who have refrained from publishing their works in
various other magazines in other countries, lest they should be seen as
taking sides with any particular sect, group or tribe, is reason enough for
publishing such a magazine as this.
